IUFRO

The International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) is a non-profit, non-governmental international network of forest scientists, which promotes global cooperation in forest-related research and enhances the understanding of the ecological, economic and social aspects of forests.

The FORESTT International Conference is organized under the patronage of IUFRO.

One Forest Vision initiative

The One Forest Vision initiative (OFVi) aims to provide scientific support to the countries of the tropical basins in efforts to preserve the environmental integrity and irretrievable biodiversity of tropical forests and wetlands as well as monitoring carbon reservoirs in forest basins. It will enable transparent monitoring of forest degradation, carbon stocks and tropical biodiversity. The initiative was pioneered by 6 major French research bodies (CEA, CIRAD, CNRS, INRAE, IRD, MNHN) and is being developed in partnership with research institutions in the partner countries. The initiative is already receiving French government funding for the Congo Basin.

OptFORESTS

OptFORESTS, "Multilevel BIODIVERSITY for RESILIENT forests in the face of climate change", is a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Union to enhance diversity and resilience of future European forests, running from November 2022 to October 2027.

Eco2adapt

The eco2adapt project, funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation action, brings together a team of 31 experts organisations from Europe and China specialising in forestry, ecology and climate change.

This project is all about finding eco-friendly ways to protect our forests in Europe and China. We want to make sure we plant the right trees in the right places, taking into account nature and biodiversity. We want to create smart and practical solutions that will help our forests thrive for generations to come. With the support of local communities, we're working on new ideas for managing forests to keep them healthy and resilient in the face of challenges such as climate change.

ARTEMIS

ARTEMIS (Advanced Research and educaTion on the biology, the Ecology, the Management and the biomonItoring of forest ecoSystems in a changing world) is an interdisciplinary programme built on the dynamism and ambition of the Initiative d'Excellence Lorraine at the Université de Lorraine.
Through six Operational Challenges (OCs), ARTEMIS integrates research and innovation, education and training, and societal objectives, to address the multiple dimensions of forests and wood. It aims to establish a hub fostering a broad multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary community addressing forest- and wood-related issues in the Grand Est region and beyond.

INRAE

INRAE is the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment, dedicated to advancing knowledge and innovation to address major global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable food systems. Created in 2020 from the merger of INRA and IRSTEA, it brings together a wide range of experts across life, environmental and social sciences. INRAE works closely with public and private partners to support sustainable agricultural transitions, develop resilient ecosystems, and ensure healthy and secure food for all.

INRAE is the coordinating institution of the PEPR FORESTT.
